A new and entertaining tour of the gardens

Located at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (Nice), the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is one of the most beautiful villas on the Côte d’Azur. The Belle Époque villa is surrounded by nine gardens.

Since June 2018, the Culturespaces Foundation has introduced an entertaining and participative tour, which is specifically aimed at encouraging children to appreciate the art of gardening.

When each child arrives at the site, he or she will be handed a visitor’s guide that contains information about the nine thematic gardens.
The tour begins with an introduction to the life of Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild, the villa, and the history of the gardens. The children learn about the ecological management of the gardens.
The tour focuses on the specificities of the nine gardens, each of which refers to a country. Like botanists, the children are encouraged to look for and observe the remarkable plants, flowers, and trees, and to take part in various activities, such as drawing, games, poetry reading, and so on.
Duration of the tour: about 2 hours.

Conditions of participation

Free tour reserved for groups of a maximum of thirty children (for social organisations) or a class (for schoolchildren).
One supervisor is required for five children.
